Perfects everything Origins did and enhances them in ways you never thought an Assassin's Creed game could. Odyssey has it all.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey becomes one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Its history involves from beginning to end and the recreation of Ancient Greece is simply sublime. Its mechanics are the result of everything learned in previous chapters and achieve an immersive gameplay. If you are a fan of the saga and you like RPG games, Assassin´s Creed Odyssey is an essential on your bookshelf.

With Odyssey, Ubisoft has crafted the biggest Assassin's Creed to date. A colossal open world, action RPG, that can go toe to toe with the biggest names in the genre. If you're a fan of this kind of game, don't miss it.

I feel like this game is just…a bit much. A bit much so soon after Odyssey, and a bit much where it literally takes almost 60 hours to complete all four main questlines and hit level 50. That’s without 100%ing the map in the least, which would take a few dozen more hours I’m sure. For some, especially the “dollar per entertainment hour value” crowd, that’s a good thing. For others, this may be a game that you may not finish by next summer, given how much time it requires. For me personally, it was a tad exhausting.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a superb open world RPG. It can be a little rough around the edges, but there's a gameplay freedom to this particular adventure that's really a cut above what the series has attempted previously. With a gameplay loop that simply never stops giving, Ubisoft's recreation of ancient Greece is an amazing achievement, and in some ways, a genuine step forward for open world game design.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey throws so much stuff at you, it's difficult to sift through it all. It's a beautiful game to look at and the story is intriguing, but it feels like a game that could have been a little more ambitious if given more time to develop. There's good ideas, from the branching story and character choice to the return of ship-based combat, but its ambitions also fray around the edges in a way that Origins didn’t.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey features a rich, lush world lessened by its repetitive activities. Though the main story is compelling, completing it requires you to participate in a massive amount of level grinding through less-than-stellar side quests. There’s plenty to do in this world, but a lot of it feels like busy work that fights to stay exciting or compelling. Odyssey is yet another open world game that misinterprets the meaning of more content.

First off, it's vary rare that any AC game will ever deserve below a 6.5 score and most of that has to do with bugs or the fan base feeling as if the game has fallen away from form. However, this game doesn't deserve those types of scores no matter how you view it. The RPG elements are enjoyable, The combat has improved from Origins, the new Exploration mode makes me want to invest more time into travelling throughout the world when normally I would just want to just follow the quest guidelines. Overall, no, this doesn't feel like a true Assassins Creed game but it is very enjoyable. I'm hoping after these next two years off UBI takes the best of what we loved at the beginning of the series and combines it with the new RPG elements. It takes away that slight linear feeling the original games had. I do miss the overall style of the original games in gear design. I haven't felt like an Assassin since the EZIO series and I wish we could bring that feeling back. Overall I'm enjoying this game about 20hrs in. The story is more enjoyable than Origins, slight frame rate drops can occur and some of the NPC voicing is laughable but this game deserves a solid 7.5/8 score overall. Expand

I don't know why, but AC Oyssey doesn't suck me in the way Origins did. Half the time I'm playing the game I don't really enjoy it. BiggerI don't know why, but AC Oyssey doesn't suck me in the way Origins did. Half the time I'm playing the game I don't really enjoy it. Bigger surely isn't better. It's extremely repetitive after a while, unlocking the locations and doing the sidequests. And you can't exactly be like "Well, I don't feel like doing sidequests right now, I'll just focus on the main storyline" cuz your level will be too low. Of course, there is a way around this for 20 bucks which is an insult really. It also makes the replay value very low (in case you want to play with both characters) because it means you'll be forced to do all the sidequests all over again to keep your lvl up to par. I for one do not want to pay an extra 20 bucks. I am rather pissed off about this but what to do about it.

Now, if the game was flawless I might enjoy it more. It's not. Immersion is kinda ruined rather often when you can't run up a staircase and you have to move like an inch to the right, when while running around in the world you suddenly freeze cuz the world has to load, when you shoot an arrow at someone and miss cuz the npc is bugged into a location and warps away when you should've hit him thus alarming half the camp. Once I had an enemy duplicate himself when I struck him. Climbing onto stuff doesn't work rather often. (again, moving to the left or right by an inch or two fixes it, but it's annoying) It's also annoying a bit to me that characters level up with you. If I have to quickly do something in an old area, it's not really quickly. I don't really understand why they removed the option to level up enemies like Origins had.

Yeah, the world is big, but because of it it gets old fast. I don't see myself actually finishing this game, it's become a drag to play it, not a joy. If you like to grind and just explore get it, otherwise, stick with Origins.
